DT Haynesworth in working hard to prepare for upcoming season

The Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth actually never stopped working hard to give better performance in new season, although he has skipped all the team’s offseason workouts. According to the tackle’s personal trainer, Haynesworth had been working so hard that he had lost 32 pounds from the beginning of the offseason to now.

"Albert, he's the type of person that doesn't want to disappoint anybody, but he's very business-minded. I think it has motivated him quit e a bit, just seeing what his teammates are saying about him and seeing what everybody in the press is saying about him," trainer Tripp Smith told The (Fredericksburg, Va.) Free Lance-Star. "I told him, 'If you show up and are playing like an animal, they're going to forget about the fact that you didn't go to a two-day minicamp or whatever happened aside from football.'"

The Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan has been disappointed with Haynesworth’s absence from team activities. Because of his displeasure over the switch to a 3-4 defense, Haynesworth had been asking for a trade. And even if he appeared for a team workout, he was often wearing Favre jerseys and watching on sideline, claiming that he was suffering pains here or there.
